Mighty Muscles Protein Smoothie

Fuel your little superhero for the day with a protein-packed kids smoothie! We partnered with Sarah, mom of 5 boys, to come up with a yummy, quick and easy smoothie recipe that contains well-round nutrition. We're calling it "Mighty Muscles" for all the kiddos that want to "be strong" like mom or dad!

Importance of Nutrition for Kids

Healthy Height was founded on the principle that nutrition is a key driver for growth and good health for children. Studies show that American children ages 2-17 have diets lacking in essential nutrients. Did you know that poor or inadequate nutritional intake can contribute to growth deceleration and short stature, sometimes without other symptoms of poor nutritional status?

Children Need More Protein Than Adults

We know that children need high protein intake to grow and develop properly. Children need more protein per pound of body weight than adults, yet children often do not get the proper amount of protein in their diets.

Healthy Height addresses this problem - as each serving of our formula contains 12 grams of high-quality protein. Our shake mix is made with milk protein, more specifically whey protein, which has been shown in research to be superior to plant-based proteins for promoting growth.

Sarah's Take

“My boys LOVE smoothies (they get that from me) — I consider myself a bit of a self-proclaimed smoothie connoisseur. So we have them often and the boys love being in the kitchen and trying new smoothie recipes with me!" Sarah shares. "And because it’s a new year and resolutions are still floating around, I’m sharing a quick, healthy and easy smoothie recipe using our favorite @healthyheight mix which is great for growing kids- but especially kids that need a protein boost. Two sips in and Jude was already telling me how good it was!!”

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops Chocolate Healthy Height
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup vanilla bean yogurt
  • 1 cup kale
  • Fill the rest of the blender with ice

Directions:

  • Add ingredients to a blender and combine until smooth
  • Pour and serve in a cup
