Applelicious Protein-Packed Chicken BBQ Meatballs

Our Applelicious Protein-Packed Chicken BBQ Meatballs are a tasty twist on classic meatballs, packed with Healthy Heights Kidz Protein for an extra nutrition boost. These meatballs are kid-friendly and perfect for summer picnics, BBQs, or family dinners.


  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded apples
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup Healthy Heights Protein (any plain flavor) mixed with 1/2 cup water
  • Honey BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)


  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 385°F (195°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, shredded parmesan cheese, shredded apples, plain breadcrumbs, minced garlic, parsley flakes, salt, pepper, and the Healthy Heights Protein mixture. Use your hands to mix everything well.
  3. Shape Meatballs: Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get about 20-28 meatballs. Place them on the prepared sheet pan.
  4. Bake: Bake the meatballs for 22 minutes, flipping them once halfway through the cooking time. Keep an eye on them to ensure they are cooked through.
  5. Coat with Sauce: Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to a bowl and drizzle with honey BBQ sauce. Toss to coat them evenly.
  6. Serve: Serve the meatballs as they are, or with toothpicks/skewers for easy eating. Add extra honey BBQ sauce for dipping, if desired.
